Challenge

More than just something to eat and enjoy

Food and beverage marketing starts with understanding what people are really coming for. It might be a taste of New York, an inventive night out, a connection to culinary tradition, a comfortable place to gather, or a drink that fits the moment. You identify that experience and make it tangible through the brand, so people have a reason to choose it before they ever taste it.

Strategy

So, What’s the Story…

Every bite and every sip has a story. So does the business behind it. We begin with a Brand Review that looks at your food, your kitchen, the experience you create, where your ingredients come from, and how customers discover you.

For Benvenuto II, that story began with its Old World roots. We brought its heritage and locally sourced ingredients together with a menu shaped for local tastes, creating a brand that feels true to where it came from and the community it serves today.

We start with a Brand Focus Review—an in-depth discovery process that answers three key questions:
What are you creating?
Who are you creating it for?
And why should they care?

For internationally acclaimed violinist and educator Daisy Jopling, the Brand Focus Review helped us clarify the relationship between the artist, the educator, and the organization—and create a clearer foundation for reaching the audiences that matter

Execution

Creativity on the menu

The story has to show up wherever customers meet the brand. For LeafDrop, we connected each beverage to the people and moments it was made for. For Matt & Meera, we brought the restaurant’s character to life through the people behind the food, including its tandoori chef. Joy Gourmet Foods’ website and proposed labels drew on its Mumbai street food roots, while Chelsea Brewing’s packaging used iconic New York imagery to capture the spirit of its Chelsea Piers home. The work takes different forms, but every choice helps make the business unmistakably its own.

Founded in New York in the mid-1990s, Joy Gourmet Foods brings the flavors of Mumbai’s vegetarian street food to its wholesale products and catering. Its chutneys, ghee, ice creams, lassis, and traditional dishes reflect the ingredients and care behind the food. Our work carried that story through the website and proposed product labels.

The Chelsea Piers Brewing Company was founded in the late 1990’s, the first new brewery to open in New York City since the 1930’s I repurposed iconic new your  imagery for the packaging, giving the bar a period feel. See Chelsea Brewing Company for more information

LeafDrop combines real fruit juice with CBD and functional ingredients to create a new category of functional beverages, each formulated to support a different aspect of everyday wellness.

One way  I differentiated Matt & Meera was by providing backstories for key personnel. Here we meet Karama, a former Buddhist monk who is now out Tandoori Chef to help with his sick mother. See matt & merra for more info

Outcomes

Rave Reviews…

When the brand captures the experience behind the food or drink, people have a reason to choose you before the first bite or sip. Across these projects, we gave each business a clearer story and carried it through the places customers encounter it, from packaging and menus to websites and campaigns. The result is a brand that feels as distinctive as what you serve—and gives people a reason to come back.
